Biography
The Story Behind The Brand
Bruno Pelembe, known to his athletes as "Coach B," began his basketball journey in Maputo, Mozambique. His introduction to the game came through his uncle Ilidio Silva, the brother of legendary Portuguese footballer Eusébio Silva — who took him and his brother to a local basketball camp. It was there that Bruno first fell in love with the sound of a bouncing ball and the thrill of competition.
Over more than two decades as a player, basketball has taken him across the United Kingdom, the United States, Ireland, Portugal, Morocco, Spain and Greece. His journey includes representing England International, both Mozambique and Great Britain at Masters level — and even sharing a memorable mini basketball shoot-out with King Charles III at an exhibition.
With over six years of coaching experience, Coach B has worked with hundreds of young athletes across Hertfordshire and the wider UK, from complete beginners to talented players pursuing scholarship opportunities in the USA, Canada and Europe.
Based in Welwyn Garden City, Coach B has developed a distinctive coaching approach centred on technical skill, basketball IQ, discipline and confidence. His commitment extends far beyond performance on the court: he is passionate about developing strong character, lasting self-belief and the mindset young people need to succeed in basketball and in life.
This philosophy remains at the heart of Coach B Basketball: basketball is the vehicle, but the destination is a great life.
